Hello there.

Another week down!

I have good news and bad news. The good news is I am here keeping good on my promise of the FRIDAY! FUCK YEA posts being a weekly thing. The bad news is that I had big plans for the blog this week but they got flushed down the crapper. There is always next week.

This week’s FUCK YEA post is dedicated to the GREATEST SHOW OF ALL TIME:

On Patrol with Santa Barbara PD

YOU GUYS this show MIGHT be better than cheaters, I am not even kidding.

Wet your appetite with this little promo:

This is MY town (or at least it was for over 10 years)

There are things I love and HATE about dear Santa Barbara.

It is clean – but most the people there are ON in years – not much for trashing the joint.

There is lot of good food – the only activity to do (besides beachin’ in the summer) is stuff your face with the foods.

There is no traffic – because you have nowhere to go!

But still, there are days when driving through Van Nuys I miss my pretty little town. The thing I miss most of all is this show “On Patrol with SB” and all its local commercials. Think of how thrilling it is to see these men and woman in action as they take down those nasty jaywalkers (in front of your favorite donut shop* no less). Oh man look they are on Haley St. and you can see your friend Bob loitering in the background. You will never be closer to the action than this.

Santa Barbara – where crazy people go at each other with SWORDS.

Santa Barbara – where the dead homeless person in the bush is less exciting than a spider in a young woman’s car! (These are both REAL EPISODES)

I had a DVR when I was living there so I would NEVER miss an episode. I would watch them over and over – Look! The Shitty Kitty! Oh HUZZAH the Natural Cafe and underage drunk kids sitting out front! Oh Gosh! I had no idea Cost Plus was open this late! Thanks SB on Patrol.

You can’t imagine my ELATION when after months of searching I finally found this gem of our generation.

Go now! Click on that. I’ll wait.

This show is so amazing – but you need to experience the magic for yourself. Just and FYI – I call DIBS on McGrew – He is MINE!

* The ONLY Donuts you need to know about in SB is this Spudnuts – Tell Joy I sent ya!

• Watch the show – tell me your favorite episode.

• Do you have a local show in your town? SHARE IT!

Have a great weekend besties!

Fuck Yea! It’s FRIDAY

Hello out there! It’s FRIDAY! Best day of the week and YOU DESERVE A TREAT for making it!

Good for you.

Welcome to the first ever “FUCK YEA – it’s Friday” post.

I think youtube is the GREATEST thing EVER – don’t you. I can get caught in a useless awesome vortex of doom and only come up for snacks. There is so much to see and find. I have bookmarked some treasures and will feature them on Fridays. I am so glad you are all with me on this!

I was digging around the inter-webs via satellite with my pal Ginger – mostly looking for weird kid shows from our childhood that feature puppets. Everyone in their 30’s does that, right? So about 20 clips in I came to this:

I have no idea how they are related but I am ALL IN! I am not sure which is better, Mr Gildo or the AUDIENCE. And look at the dish at around 40 seconds. Hellllo there dreamy.

Deeper into the vortex I go, and find that this character was a bit of a dreamboat himself and looking VERY Fabian in the 1960s.

And jiving like a badass:

He has a thing for BLONDS (whatever)
But the Ann-Margret wanna be TAKES IT!

Copacabana? or Invasion of the body snatchers – It looks like a Twilight-zone episode

OK – this is dreamy and I need to find this movie

Does anyone out there know much about him – please share below!

I am attempting to do some weekly recurring posts here, so tune in next week!  Partly because I need some structure in my life, but mostly because I miss you so when we are apart.

• Send me some of your favorite random YOUTUBES
• What is your favorite video of the awesome Rex Gildo?
• What kind of shampoo do you use?

Miss you, love you, BYE

I love this girl! I can’t wait for our future photo adventures together! (The pizza and burgers we always scarf after is just a bonus)

Ruby is wearing What Katie Did and Miss L Fire shoes. This was a shoot we did for a show at the Cicada club. Gold walls are FANCAAAAAY!

Check out some other photos I have taken of the crazy talented Miss Ruby!

Wrap It Up

Hiya pals! What’s new?

Today I have a little crafty post to share with all of you. Considering I burn my eyes raw looking at all the things on the pinterest I COULD made instead of actually creating items, this is a modern miracle. Thank ya Jesus, Amen.

I am going to show you how I make custom wrapping paper. I did not buy anything special for this project but if you don’t have copious amounts of craft supplies threatening to bury you in an avalanche of glitter like I do than you may have to make a little trip to the craft store.

Here is what we are making:

What you will need:

  • Brown Craft Paper (I get mine from an office supply store)
  • Acrylic Paints (the cheap stuff works fine)
  • Various Brushes

I use this Kraft paper for everything. Most people use it for shipping and I find it is an excellent blank canvas. It is also nice and sturdy and stands up to the acrylic paint well.

Measure the item you need to wrap. I am crap at this and I always cut too big a piece. The paper is cheap so SPLURGE, you deserve it.

Simple shapes, dots, squares ext work really well. I was making these for a baby shower and I choose simple shapes and bright colors.

The only downside to this Kraft paper is that regular sucks the big one. I used lots and you can TOTALLY see it. Do they make heavy-duty tape in the skinny version? A girl can dream, right?

Thanks so much for visiting! No homework this time friends. I AM SUCH A GIVER!

Here’s to a groovy New Year!

Hi Friends!

I hope your holidays were super! Did you get what you wanted? Did you eat all the things?

I am ready to get this new year STARTED!

Groovy New Years | Bittersweet Susie

Big Set Assignment from Photo School – a KICK ASS Group Project!

(this was a Brooks Assignment – BIG SET – Pete, Colleen & I with the help of friends – HI D!. YOU KNOW that Jesus Painting is still on my wall – I wish this room was real – Pete built it in a garage!)

I am not one for New Years Resolutions – mostly because I never keep them. Learn to play the accordion – that didn’t happen. Have my mom teach me tatting  – I have said this one for years. I am queen of the no-follow through when it comes to those darn resolutions. Instead I have some goals this year. Hopefully attainable and inspirational for me to live this next year to the fullest. If I get one completed from this list I fully give myself permission to do the happy dance.

2014 Goals  -blah blah blah in no particular order:

• Get my cross stitch patterns up for sale! (I am soooo close)

• Read one book a month – and FINISH the damn book (say this to the stack of started and soon forgotten)

• Complete more crafty projects – instead of just SAVING them to do on the PINTERIST – (Yea fuck you Pinterist)

• Get my photo business organized and shoot MORE – Pricing squared away, and more creative projects

• REGULAR BLOG POSTS – this year was my first real attempt at keeping a blog – and I would like to step this up.

• Leave the house – and not just stay in working on the computer

• Drink all the juices! I got the BEST gift this year – A JUICER! I am going to DRINK ALL THE VEGGIES

So here are my goals – hopefully a challenge I can commit to. Cheers to a productive year. Thanks so much for making this blog tons of fun for me – I can’t wait to see you next time!

• New Years Resolutions – Awesome or SUCK?

• What are your plans and goals for this bright new year?

• Any tips on my goals? – Help a sister out!
