Don’t fret though, I still made you a brand new Halloween Playlist!

Remember last year’s playlist? You can find it here! Play them back to back, on repeat, for all your Halloween activities. It makes great pumpkin carving music. Confuse your trick or treaters by playing weird 1960s monster tunes. THE FUN NEVER ENDS.

My favorite on the list is the Anaheim Halloween Parade!

This is like one amazing art piece and the parade has been going strong since 1924. This takes place on Saturday Oct 25th. This is a DO NOT MISS plus I will be there and you can come eat snacks with me!

There is also RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns – this is at Descanso Gardens here in LA – and also in New York! Oooh Fancy!

Bittersweet Susie | Halloween Playlist 2014

RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns – RAWWRRRRRR

Descanso Gardens is magical on an ordinary day but it’s really amazing during this event. I totally am going to steal some of those ideas for our Halloween display.

Bittersweet Susie | Halloween Playlist 2014

RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns – This reminds me of Ray Bradbury’s Halloween Tree

The Los Angeles Haunted Hayride
is a classic October event. I am a super scary cat and I went to this!

I did have a gaggle of the raddest people to hold my hand and I took FULL advantage of that!

My Friend Technicolor Cutie and I are coming up with a helpful list for the hay riders next year:

They include boots and a flask!!

SINCE it is a FUCK YEA friday post we NEED some creepy vids to get you through this friday and on into your weekend.

Have a happy Halloween my friends! You should totally trick or treat at my parents house this year. They pass out the GOOD candy!

Singin’ in The Rain – It’s Friday

Oh friends, It is STORMWATCH 2014 here in Southern California. Scary shit. We are supposed to get more rain than we have had in 3 YEARS! Everybody FREAK OUT! So far it has been a bit lackluster as far as mother nature has been in the past. I am not complaining. Any rain is good rain here but I would like one good daylight DOWNPOUR.

This horrifying weather (the sun just fucking came out) guided me to our FUCK YEA FRIDAY YouTube extravaganza!

We are all (or I hope you are) familiar with the Gene Kelly “Singin’ In the Rain” – but did you know it was in a film earlier?

Here is Cliff Edwards – also know as Ukulele Ike – in The Hollywood Revue of 1929

Right? How amazing is that? Does his voice sound familiar? IT SHOULD. He is none other than Jiminy Cricket!

He is also Jim Crow (I KNOW) in Dumbo – he is the friend in the pink spats – so STYLISH. If he wore some crappy suspenders and a clip on bow tie he would be the belle of Dapper Day.

I think he also may be doing that scat part by our friend in the red beatnik sweater.

Cliff unfortunately led a hard life. He started in vaudeville and was extremely famous! Like heart-throb – or maybe more like comic buddy FAMOUS! He went on to do movies and had popular recordings on through the 1940s – and voice work. A drug and alcohol addiction took him down a different path and he died in the 1970s – in obscurity. I read that Walt Disney was quietly paying for his medical bills and even paid for his headstone. I don’t have that fact checked but it is a nice thought all the same.

Blah I ruined the FUCK YEA vibe – let’s bring it back. Cliff is so charming and talented I dare you

(I FREAKING DAAAARRRRE YOUUU) to not get into some of these clips.

It really get’s going at the end of this one:

Here are some more wonderful YouTubes: They make me want to break out my Ukulele (no really I should – I can play all of one song on it because I DON’T PRACTICE)

“It’s Only a Paper Moon”

With Buster Keaton:

We could be here all day with the treasures of Cliff Edwards out there! I think this is a perfect soundtrack for brightening up a gloomy friday. Celebrate Cliff with listening to a few of his wonderful tunes.

Have a good weekend – visit me again!

• Best/worst thing about the rain?

• What do you watch or listen to on a gloomy day? I put on BBC’s Pride and Prejudice!

The Punchy Players presents: Friday!

Oh Friday can it really be you? FUCK YEA!

My schedule is so all over the place I do not really know WHAT day it is anymore.

Weekend? What’s that?

Today I bring you a little YouTube comedy by the way of the Punchy Players – if you hadn’t had the pleasure then you are about to go into a YouTube spiral of rad. My friend Chris showed these to me. I keep my friends around because they make me look cooler than I actually am.

Here are a couple of my favorites – I pretty much pee my pants when I watch them. You are welcome for that visual.

Hollywood Hoarder

Why is this not a REAL SHOW. Holy Jesus – all the corn cob holders!

Cream of Wheat – SING IT JUDY

Piggly Wiggly – Momma I wish I was a Oscar Mayer Weiner!

Baby Daddy – Just try it! The KIDS will love it!

I am working on a 3 day headache. If you cut me open you will find that my blood has been replaced with Excedrine.

If you are having one of those Fridays – like me – these will cheer you up!

Thanks for stopping by! I love seeing your face.

  • What is your favorite Judy Garland movie? This week mine is Easter Parade

Love is in the AIR – ‘cuz FRIDAY!

Friends. Friday. Can you dig it? and HAPPY Valentine’s Day! You are looking super fly. I just wanted you to know that.

Love is in the air – or it may be the aftermath of all that chocolate I ate last night (Thanks MOM and DAD – best Valentine’s EVER)

I have little something that my favorite gal, Ruby, and I made for you – BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!

Bittersweet Susie | Miss Rockabilly Ruby

Just know I am never cutting out that many hearts in Photoshop again. I don’t love you that much.

In honor of this festive day I have some LOVE themed videos for you. Don’t worry – they are totally Bittersweet approved.

I am sure a lot of you have seen this one – but it gets better every time I watch it.

Cringe worthy for sure. But friends, after watching it a few times I started to like these guys – except for the surfer douche who said he doesn’t want a girl into food. I will hunt you and punch in the face and then eat ALL THE CHEESE. Douche.

Mr. John Ritter on the Dating Game:

What a dreamboat (and fucking hilarious)! He is certainly the best one – though that cutie in the glasses… The first dude, I feel for him but also want to smack him in the face at the same time – agree?

Now that you have seen all the available guys, and picked your winner – you need to know the proper way to undress in the bedroom! Oooh La La!

So EDUCATIONAL (and not weird or pervy AT ALL) Trixie rules. Sometimes having the entire bed to yourself rules. SCRATCH WHAT YOU WANT TRIXIE!

Don’t forget to check out my Anti-Valentine’s day Playlist!

I hope today you get something sweet! I really do LIKE like you, you know.

No homework because it’s a HOLIDAY! See you next time dears.

Hey Friday!

Fuck yea it is FRIDAY! I think these posts are making my week go by too fast. How was yours?

I hope it was swell.

I have a special treat for you friends today! We are going to celebrate this FRIDAY with PUPPETS! FUUUCKKK YEA! Actually Marionettes.

Bob Baker Marionette Theater

Have you ever been to the Bob Baker Marionette Theater? Why not? Hmmm – I am not sure I even like you anymore. I think you can make it up to me… If you live in LA (or just make a trip already) you NEED to make time for this very special place. My good friend Ginger has reminded me about this wonderful theater that I haven’t been to since I was little. It is hard to describe what it is like to watch this show and immediately feel like a kid again. It is very much like stepping back in time – something a lot of us try so hard to do in our daily lives but never quite make it. This place can.

In honor of Bob’s 90th Birthday CELEBRATION I have some interweb vids for you to see what all the awesome is really about!

Charming promo from 1974 – Those piggies are my FAVORITE!

This commercial from the Liberace Show in the 1950s

Bill Robinson – if you don’t rush out and buy your tickets today you after seeing this then you are ugly and I hate you.

So what are you waiting for? Take your friend, niece, grandma – that dude you met in line at Costco. Don’t wait – or you might miss it!

and HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB BAKER! Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent.

  • Have you been to the Bob Baker Theater?
  • What was your favorite part of the show
  • Go AGAIN when their next show is on

Hello there.

Another week down!

I have good news and bad news. The good news is I am here keeping good on my promise of the FRIDAY! FUCK YEA posts being a weekly thing. The bad news is that I had big plans for the blog this week but they got flushed down the crapper. There is always next week.

This week’s FUCK YEA post is dedicated to the GREATEST SHOW OF ALL TIME:

On Patrol with Santa Barbara PD

YOU GUYS this show MIGHT be better than cheaters, I am not even kidding.

Wet your appetite with this little promo:

This is MY town (or at least it was for over 10 years)

There are things I love and HATE about dear Santa Barbara.

It is clean – but most the people there are ON in years – not much for trashing the joint.

There is lot of good food – the only activity to do (besides beachin’ in the summer) is stuff your face with the foods.

There is no traffic – because you have nowhere to go!

But still, there are days when driving through Van Nuys I miss my pretty little town. The thing I miss most of all is this show “On Patrol with SB” and all its local commercials. Think of how thrilling it is to see these men and woman in action as they take down those nasty jaywalkers (in front of your favorite donut shop* no less). Oh man look they are on Haley St. and you can see your friend Bob loitering in the background. You will never be closer to the action than this.

Santa Barbara – where crazy people go at each other with SWORDS.

Santa Barbara – where the dead homeless person in the bush is less exciting than a spider in a young woman’s car! (These are both REAL EPISODES)

I had a DVR when I was living there so I would NEVER miss an episode. I would watch them over and over – Look! The Shitty Kitty! Oh HUZZAH the Natural Cafe and underage drunk kids sitting out front! Oh Gosh! I had no idea Cost Plus was open this late! Thanks SB on Patrol.

You can’t imagine my ELATION when after months of searching I finally found this gem of our generation.

Go now! Click on that. I’ll wait.

This show is so amazing – but you need to experience the magic for yourself. Just and FYI – I call DIBS on McGrew – He is MINE!

Bittersweet Susie | The Greatest Show EVER

* The ONLY Donuts you need to know about in SB is this Spudnuts – Tell Joy I sent ya!

• Watch the show – tell me your favorite episode.

• Do you have a local show in your town? SHARE IT!

Have a great weekend besties!
